Declaration of War

Friday, January 27 - Thursday, February 9, 2012

In France’s official submission for the 2012 Oscars, a couple (filmmakers Jeremie Elkaim and Valérie Donzelli) is devastated when their newborn son is diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor. As the illness puts the ultimate strain on their relationships with friends, family, and each other, the young lovers decide to declare war. Based on a heartbreaking true story, Elkaim and Donzelli turn their own real-life tragedy into a stylistically bold, intensely moving drama, a critical and box office smash in their homeland.
