Unveiled through a made-for-TV documentary, five chilling tales emerge: scientists observe an unusual boy fixated on his TV, kids embark on a lake skiing adventure, a TV crew fights to survive a natural disaster, the early days of VR awaken something terrifying, and a deadly dream is captured on tape.  Sinister secrets of the 1980s come to life in a way you’ve never seen before.

This special V/H/S/85 screening is the third installment in “Shudder Showcase at IFC Center,” a new, monthly series that serves up special advance screenings of some of Shudder’s most exciting and provocative upcoming titles. The program offers sneak previews of some of the most talked-about genre films of the year in optimal conditions—on the big screen, in the company of fans. Each screening is hosted by Shudder’s VP of Programming Sam Zimmerman or another special guest, with free popcorn for Shudder subscribers, along with giveaways and more.
