Opens Friday, December 16

An unorthodox tale about an unorthodox man, Larraín’s (No, Tony Manero) metafictional tale conjures up the legendary Nobel-winning poet, committed communist and unapologetic hedonist Pablo Neruda. When Chile outlaws his party in 1948, the left-wing artist-activist goes underground. Tracked by an ambitious, self-important police inspector (Gael García Bernal), Neruda’s life on the run inspires some of his greatest work, and the hunt for the poet becomes an exploration of the power of poetry itself.
