Sound of Redemption: The Frank Morgan Story

Wednesday, December 2 - Thursday, December 10, 2015

Frank Morgan was known to be one of jazz’s greatest saxophone players. But the prodigy who’d once seemed destined for greatness spent the better part of 30 years behind bars, a convicted thief and an addict. This new documentary traces Morgan’s progress from one-time whiz kid to hardcore junkie and, finally, to a remarkable comeback. A one-night-only, all-star musical tribute filmed live at San Quentin forms the backbone of a portrait that brings together the past, present and future of Morgan’s genius.
