Assayas’s wise and lyrical new film focuses upon three siblings–Juliette Binoche, Charles Berling and Jeremie Renier–called back to their family home from afar when tragedy strikes. After the sudden death of their mother (the legendary Edith Scob of EYES WITHOUT A FACE), they’re forced to decide what to do with her rambling country estate and beloved art collection. As they realize that their lives and desires have diverged completely, the three grapple with the hard choices ahead of them and the difficulty of honoring their mother’s wishes.
