The Treasure
Friday, January 8 - Thursday, January 21, 2016
Costi leads a quiet life in the city with his wife and son. One evening, a neighbor he barely knows approaches him with a business proposal. Legend has it that there’s a buried treasure in the neighbor’s grandparents’ country home; if Costi will lend him some money to rent a metal detector to find it, he’ll split the proceeds. Acclaimed filmmaker Corneliu Porumboiu’s (Police, Adjective; 12:08 East of Budapest) contemporary fable starts on a note of doubt, before evolving into his most deliciously dry comedy–and then into something magical indeed.
