Tokyo Sonata

Friday, March 13 - Thursday, March 26, 2009

The acclaimed director of Pulse turns his attention to a new kind of horror story: a fable about a family unraveling in the face of financial troubles. When his company outsources his job, a Tokyo patriarch finds himself without a daily purpose. Too ashamed and adrift to tell his loved ones, he pretends to leave every morning for the office, but spends his days wandering aimlessly with other unemployed men. At home, however, his frustration and deception set off a chain reaction among his wife and two sons, who start to act out in unexpected ways.
