Human Rights Watch Film Festival 2016

Friday, June 10 - Sunday, June 19, 2016

A vital forum for cinema that tackles important global issues, HRWFF showcases an international selection of acclaimed films that bring human rights struggles to life through storytelling–challenging, provocative movies that call for justice and social change. Among the highlights of the 2016 edition is the closing night selection of SONITA (winner of Sundance’s Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for World Documentary), a portrait of a young, female Afghan refugee in Tehran fighting cultural restrictions on women to pursue her dreams of performing.

Additional screenings take place at the Film Society of Lincoln Center
