IN A GLASS CAGE tells the story of an ex-Nazi child abuser named Klaus who is paralyzed and relies on an iron lung to live. A young man named Angelo arrives to nurse the sadistic patient. But as it turns out, Angelo was one of Klaus’s victims years before. Inspired by the true story of 15th century French knight Gilles de Rais, this psychological thriller is considered Spanish filmmaker Agusti Villaronga’s Masterpiece.
“This film was eventually discovered by adventurous horror connoisseurs, who quickly placed it alongside SALO and CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST in the pantheon of beautifully-made cinematic atrocities.” —Nathaniel Thompson, MONDO DIGITAL
