The Tree of Life

Friday, August 25 - Thursday, September 7, 2023

“My first job in cinema exhibition was in 2011, the year this film came out and all the heightened emotion, spirituality, and expressiveness left a huge impression. THE TREE OF LIFE is what I hold up when I talk about what a film can do for me. I haven’t seen it since then because I can’t imagine watching it outside of a theater. So now, I am forcing IFC Center to play this movie in my last month of working in a cinema. Soon, I’ll be on my way to being a social worker, still thinking a lot about emotions, spirituality, and expression.”
