The screening will be followed by an on-stage conversation with director Billy Shebar and producer Susan Margolin.

The transcendentally original musical/interdisciplinary NYC-based artist Meredith Monk has been creating and performing over six decades. Pioneering new vocabularies of sound and imagery as she broke through in the 1960s and ‘70s downtown arts scene, Monk’s talent is appreciated in this mosaic telling, inspired by Monk’s own style. Featuring interviews with Björk, David Byrne and many others, MONK IN PIECES is the beautiful, cinematic rendition of her work and life that she richly deserves

Screening as part of DOC NYC Selects Summer 2025

Single screening tickets are $18 ($15 for seniors and $12 for IFC Center members) each. A Series Season Pass, good for all five Summer 2025 screenings in the DOC NYC Selects series, is available for $70 ($50 for IFC Center members).
