20 Films for 20 Years, Part 1

Friday, August 29 - Thursday, October 2, 2025

IFC Center celebrates our 20th anniversary with a look back at some of the key films we’ve had the privilege of playing. Featuring a different title for each year we’ve been open, this series spans two decades of amazing cinema from around the world. We’re honoring the filmmakers whose work has helped make IFC Center what it is, like Miranda July (ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW), Ira Sachs (PASSAGES), Lars von Trier (ANTICHRIST), Hirokazu Kore-Eda (SHOPLIFTERS) and of course, David Lynch (INLAND EMPIRE).

Part 1 (Aug 29 – Sep 4) covers some of our favorite films to play during IFC Center’s first ten years, including Barry Jenkins’s debut feature (MEDICINE FOR MELANCHOLY) and 35mm screenings of Gregg Araki’s KABOOM, Gaspar Noé’s dizzying ENTER THE VOID, Hal Hartley’s caper FAY GRIM, and the longest-running title to ever play at IFC Center, Richard Linklater’s BOYHOOD.

Part 2 (coming Sep 25 – Oct 2) features highlights from IFC Center’s second decade in business, including an acclaimed collaboration between Oliver Assayas and Juliette Binoche (THE CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA) and a Palme d’Or winner from Julia Ducornau (TITANE), before we cap things off with one of our biggest-ever hits, Alice Rohrwacher’s LA CHIMERA. Showtimes and tickets for that week will be announced soon.
